About Tanzanite
Tanzanite is the blue-to-violet gem variety of zoisite and is known from a very limited area near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is commonly heat-treated to produce its characteristic blue and violet colours.

Care Guide
Tanzanite has a hardness of about 6–7 and can be vulnerable to impact because of its cleavage. Use warm soapy water for cleaning and avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, as well as sudden temperature changes.
